Riverdene Stud is in the enviable position of having a fully equipped equine hospital and surgery on site. Riverdene Equine Hospital provides both routine and emergency care to all horses residing on the stud. The hospital services two other large commercial studs in the region and attends to the needs of the local equine populations both at the hospital and in an ambulatory capacity.

The veterinary team is headed by stud proprietor Dr. Kevin Pendergast, who has had over twenty-five years experience and is well known and respected in the equine industry. Kevin is capably assisted by Dr. Raina Scott who has worked exclusively with horses for many years and has a special interest in stud medicine.

In addition to the two full time equine veterinarians, Riverdene is proud to engage the services of Dr Nick Kannegietter. Nick is a specialist equine surgeon who performs surgeries throughout New South Wales and South East Queensland. Nick regularly visits Riverdene in order to provide assistance with those more specialized and difficult surgical procedures.

Riverdene Equine Hospital is continually expanding and improving due to the total commitment of the vets in providing the best of care for the horses they see.
